For Science! Ask for volunteers to conduct tulpa-related research, or post and discuss your experiments here. If you are researching a topic not directly related to tulpas, fee free to post in #general-discussion Forum link to the Research Board: https://community.tulpa.info/forum/5-research/
I figure such a thing might best be put into this channel. Someone has produced a survey regarding the possibility of using other terms for non-traumagenic systems. If you all could give your input, it would be appreciated. https://shaunanderson.typeform.com/to/YZI4WG
Share it around if you can.
Please fill out this form ONLY if you have at least one vocal tulpa (able to tell you how to answer or answering themselves). Most of the questions are asked from the tulpa's perspective. If you have several systemmates please pick one answer that's most relevant to your sys...
the background in psychology certainly helps. Otherwise it becomes very difficult to get the resources and credentials necessary to actually organize legit studies that people will take you seriously on
I'm curious about Parallel Processing and I'm going through a phase where I want to try and see if achieving Parallel Processing is possible. I'm very skeptical towards this process, so I'm interested
(Indigo posted a GD thread on this topic, but we wanted to make a survey on it to really see the results. If this survey ends by the time you find it, you can post your types in this thread) This is a
I have some serious concerns with the above - your thread is telling people to research Enneagram, and your links go to the same website where they sell the $12 test! They aren't peer-reviewed or scientific or reputable in the least. And moreover you're telling people not to take the test but rather pick one of the nine based off what they think of themselves! Even though the test is essentially bullshit, I'm pretty confident most people won't pick the type that the test would otherwise reflect.

The core of the issue here is not that the test is flawed, but rather how you’re presenting it. At minimum you should amend the post to reflect the fact that tests like Enneagram or MBTI are not scientific in the least. Moreover you should point to “research” that isn’t on the Enneagram mass-market website.
It's fake because Ford admitted that it's fake. Also, journals like this one can accept even a tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise as a scientific paper.
I was summoned here because I received direct admissions from Ford/Jade on multiple occasions that all "research" they conducted, including this published study, was entirely fabricated. They were attempted to push a narrative of tulpas being universally good and were willing to falsify research to that end.
11:09 PM
The data in anything they published should be considered 100% fake.
The research often cited by a large part of the community is cited with effort to prove a point rather than to study or do general research. Be generally skeptical of any and all cited studies in this community, as they are almost always flawed in very significant ways, used in misleading ways, or otherwise have reasons they cannot be solidly trusted.
Take your time to do what you should do when it comes to any science. Bunker down and challenge any claims, look for other opinions on the topic, and generally make sure that you have no angle to attack or reason to disbelieve a point of view before you accept something as true or not. To not do so will lead you to trusting a lot of very very questionable stuff.
12:41 AM
And always be sure to trust experts and do your research, "common sense" often is very bad and if an established expert in quantum mechanics says "X" but you just don't really feel like "X" could be true, then X is probably true regardless.
And /r/tulpas is alright. It's a far cry from what it used to be, but it's still alright.
12:47 AM
I agree with you there as well Apollo, although I also believe that the "smell" and the bunk science go hand in hand, or will tend to exist together where if you fix one the other will go away as well

If you have integrity (or stability or mental health or whatever else) you do honest research, and you don't manipulate people. If you fail to have integrity (or stability or mental health or whatever else) you do bad research and you manipulate people.
When they were here they said something more nuanced then wholly fabricated

My take on it is it doesn't matter because they were attempting to prove a point, once you have someone who is trying to do that you discredit the science. Someone without a vendetta or a goal or an aim can redo the study.
Surveys are more of a... census, a way to find correlations and/or form a hypothesis about a person's behavior/identity/beliefs/etc and less of an experiment. Surveys are often done as part of the scientific method to gather information, but it is not science, nor can any one step of the scientific method really be referred to as 'doing science'. It also certainly isn't an exact, easily replicated, or in fact easy way to gather information. There are often inconsistencies, lies, or outright misinformed answers, which mess with the data, but you can get very close to accurate information from it depending on the audience and the experience of the people creating the survey and evaluating the survey answers and quality of the survey itself.(edited)
Due to a lack of responses, I will not be able to release a conclusion on my hypothesis. However, I can still release comparison data if enough people fill out the pre-survey. Please feel free to fill it out, you don't have to continue with the rest of the experiment if you do not wish to. Here is the link to the survey: https://forms.gle/SEJRqtgwaAkd6RW38
THIS SURVEY MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE PERFORMING THE EXPERIMENT.
This survey's goal is to get some background information on the participants aiding in the experiment. This survey and this experiment are NOT designed to prove if Parallel Processing is real or not, only if the...
@A long kiss goodnight what do you mean by "transgender male" and "transgender female"
for trans male, do you mean someone who is female-to-male?
In general it's best to just have "male/female/nonbinary(other)", and if being trans is important, another question asking "are you transgender, i.e., are you a gender other than that assigned at birth?"
my point is just, there's no such thing as a "sex change"
you transition the attributes above in various ways, in order to live as a guy or woman or whatever
meh
I just found it an oddly worded survey question
3:37 PM
is my sex changed?

some states you literally can't
some states, you need surgery
others, not
to change the legal letter on your documents and whatnot
